I think that learning French up to the CLB7 on all bands is much easier than earning an PhD. Unless you already began working on your dissertation. Nowadays, with Skype, italki and netflix is much easier. What is worrying is your's wife unwillingness to learn English. That will be an essential...

Always work on improving your CRS. If you can do it by retaking the IELTS, do so. The language skills are also one of the most important skills you can have once you land in CA, so it's not a time lost.

Don't wait and pray, but do what you can to improve your score! I myself (sitting at 416 right now) started to learn french. It is not that hard if you already speak good English (which you do).

Yes, it will as it decreases supply of candidates (new / updated) profile. On the other hand OINP candidates land on the very top, and it seems that they'll add couple of hundreds of them for this draw.

I disagree here. For CSR to come down we need more ITA's per draw than new / updated profiles with scores higher than previous draw. It's a simple equation. In any way you don't need to have weekly draws - you need consistent draws with higher number of ITA's than recently, like 3500+ per...

The one you put in your profile. It's your choice, as long as it's a valid one (not older than 2 years from the exam date). So in short, you can choose your best IELTS score out of multiple attempts.

That's great! I'm quite sure you'll get your ITA in next draw!

You don't need a miracle, you need to retake the IELTS and score just as good (or better) as previous time. Even if you get the ITA, you need to be qualified when submitting the documents. That also means, your IETLS score should be valid at that time. In your situation, I would book the the...

Very unlikely. If no draw today - almost impossible. However, if the trend continues and we have regular draws, then September or October are in range for 411.

I have Institut Français in my city, so went there. They also run the TEF exam and I suppose it's like French equivalent of British Council or Göthe Institut of Germany. They have a intensive course at A1 level, it's 2 weeks, 3 hours daily, 30 hours together. Quite exhausting. But after one week...

Thanks for confirmation! So I understand it correctly. I was aiming at CLB7 + 30 points for IELTS 5+. Scoring CLB9 in a completely new language will definitely be very hard, unless you use some immersion techniques like moving to France for a year.

Bonjour! Similar story here, was too slow on OINP, but started French classes this week, so far found it quite difficult with pronunciation. However, I'm wondering how you came with the additional 24 points for CLB7 on French. After June 2017 changes I understood it as 42 points boost for...

Not less than 3'515. That's easy, because Ontario publishes their nomination numbers: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_PROCESSINGTIMES.html For the record, previous entry was from 19 June, stating 3103 nominations issued.

Between May and August 2016 the number of ITA's issued was about 750, before May was about 1500, after August/September 1500-2000.

I also hope that it's the summer slowdown, similar like last year. And that they potentially watch their quota more closely. Not sure when they'll start considering the issued ITA's as coming from the next year's quota. Maybe September / October?
