Applied from Thailand, now family class pr is approved but I am already in Canada on visitors visa. Do I send passport to Singapore?

We were in the same boat as you - wife was in Canada on visitor visa - we just followed the instructions, as @armoured also mentioned. We let them know of the change in address, and did the same on ECAS ( although I did this as soon as she landed in Canada ). They then sent us a separate email...

Agreed. Rule of thumb is to follow checklist - however, if unable to, provide an explanation. Agents aren't robots, they will understand if its genuine enough. Problem is people skipping the LOE completely, or trying to fool the agents. That is where it causes issues.

Not sure if that is true. Its all case-by-case. We got our PR without a Rukhsati and we aren't the only ones ( although we sent some pictures of our rukhsati later closer to end of our process ). Lots of people I personally know did as well. If you can explain reasoning behind it ( COVID-19...

Given it took people 5-6 month to just get AOR1s not too long ago, you need to sit back and relax and wait for the process to follow its due course. Probably a 1 year mark is a good estimate ( although they have sped up recently ).

Not sure about that bit. If it's an emergency, he can always give the interview from a different location. Or fly back. Depends on your situation, of course. But I think at this point - quickest way for you both to be together is via TRV.

Is online spousal PR application faster ???

They started an online portal for citizenship applications - which has turned out to be considerably slower than paper applications. 2 month AOR vs 5 months AOR for online. Safe to assume; while it's testing phase, online might actually follow similar trend and be slower.

Leaving Canada Temporarily while spouse's PR (outland) is in progress Sponser being PR and sponsorship eligibility is Approved

There is another forum where the moderators painted a bleak picture - including the fact that sponsor will have to give up their own PR, leave the country and come back again. IRCC, on the other hand, approved the person's spouse's application after they received a PFL and gave a response. So...

Submitting Paper Application After Online Submission

Isn't the first application the one which receives AOR first? App received really doesn't count for much till we receive AOR, no?

Submitting Paper Application After Online Submission

Thanks for the link. I had read this before posting my question - which was actually based on two points mentioned in the same link you provided here. 1. Unless a client specifically requests CIC to process two or more applications at the same time, all applications will be held by CIC until...

Submitting Paper Application After Online Submission

Having noticed the processing time difference between paper applications and online applications ( Jan-21 Online Applicants beginning to receive AORs just now ), does it make sense to submit a paper version of the application, given I already have all the documentation? Is there anyone who has...

Refusal based on Asian Discrimination and Intent

The guy himself proved in the thread that IRCC was right by showing he really doesn't have much intent on going back. If someone really wanted to go back immediately - which is IRCC requirement here - they would especially if their wife has a TRV. The fact that he is still thinking about it...

    July 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Is there any significant difference b/w online and paper application timelines? I went through the tracker - no online applicant from 2021 has received an AOR - which doesn't sound right. Anyone have any info on this or heard from any online applicant?

Why are newer applications being processed before older ones?

Not necessarily. If you pivot the data from the tracker and look at it from a VO filter, it's still all over the place. We went to London, where a lot of Jan - Mar 20 applicants are stuck, while Aug - Oct 20 applicants got PPR. I do believe it depends on how efficient the officer your batch...

Virtual Landing - Goods to Follow List

Hello Everyone, Wasn't able to find an answer on the forums- so asking if anyone has had similar experience. As most would know, with virtual landing, applicant is already within Canada, so cannot have the goods to follow list signed and stamped at the border. Given this is important if one...

When you receive PPR, it'll mention that if applicant is already in Canada you should inform them via webform. We did that plus email, and got response next day that we will be contacted by an office inside Canada. They sent a form asking for basic details, then created an account, where we had...

My options for urgently sponsoring mother and sister to Canada

Would suggest applying for a Supervisa for your mother. Process is simple, it's quick and you'll be able to get her here in no time. PR is a permanent status - and not that easy to get, with PGP being a bit and miss due to the lottery and number of applicants. As for your sister, that's going...
