Because you applied for a BOWP you are on implied status. You are legally able to work in Canada while your open work permit is pending.

Pending pr application does not give you implied status. You may want to apply for a third visitors visa to stay in Canada. Better safe then sorry

It might be because your application is a bit more complicated then the average. Also there processing times are based off of 80% of work permits completed so 20% of work permits are not completed even though the processing time date is after when they applied. So you may have to wait a little...

I would definitely wait for a senior to reply but my suggestion for your situation is to apply for a visitor visa that allows you to stay in Canada but not work until your pr is approved. Also in the past there has been draws on Fridays but you never know. Keep us posted!

It can take up to a day but my aor came in after about 2 hours. And sorry to hear about your situation. I wish I could give you some advice on your situation but I don't know the rules that well.

Right CIC says work permit extensions like a bowp is taking 34 days. But that number has be trending up as of late so by the time yours is almost ready it might be 40+
