    June 2016 Citizenship Applicants

My husband's application started being processed on June 24th and he receive his test invite today (issued July 13th). The test is in 2 weeks in Edmonton, but we will be in BC on that date so he now needs to write a letter to change the date - I'm terrified that it means he's now going to have...

Help: Income Tax - First Time

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Yes, you still need an ESTA until you become a Canadian citizen. You also need to make sure you travel with your PR card each time (my hubby has been to the US 6 times with work and twice on vacation and we joked on our latest trip that he needn't bring it because no-one has ever asked for...

My husband didn't have the paper part of his licence so our local registry asked for something from the DVLA. He got it and was given a full licence without a problem, he did have his UK card version though (not that it gives much info on it!)

No, there definitely isn't any priority for separated couples, some of the stories on here are heartbreaking. Multiple countries etc probably slows the process because of the number of police checks needed (maybe?!)

Congratulations on getting everything organised!! We're in Edmonton but my hubby is over in Vancouver quite a lot with work, it's such a beautiful place. We spent a few days there in August (I wanted to go to all the places I remember from my childhood - plus a few bars!!)

Proof that sponsor living abroad will stay in Canada

I think what you have planned sounds fine. I (sponsor) hadn't lived in Canada for over 20 years and had become a stay-at-home mom so didn't even have a job offer etc. I wrote details of where we were planning on staying when we arrived (with my sister) and the area we were hoping to find a...
