    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

No, of course not. Simply read the booklet through fully a couple of times, and read it without glossing-over any sections. When you see your test paper, each question's wording itself, along with its multiple-choice answer options, will all jog your memory sufficiently for you to be able to...

Saskatchewan Applicants applied after C6 please post your timeline here

Happy to report here that the Regina passport office processed my passport application in just a week. I'd dropped it off in-person on the monday, and it was issued and in-the-mail on the friday. I hadn't requested any kind of expedited or urgent processing at all. What great service!

10 months waiting ! no oath invitation (Calgary)

In my own personal experience, the IRCC/Calgary office has been truly excellent and exemplary in terms of their gumption, initiative, timeliness, and rapid efficient service; them even having taken the time to phone me unbidden and out-of-the-blue about my application. So, as others have...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Regina, SK. I had to juggle distance with weather and the possibility of a mail strike. We have bad weather out here this week, so I'm glad that I went last week and didn't postpone doing it.

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Happily, my new 10yr Canadian passport came to me in today's mail (Monday), after me having dropped-off my application for it in-person at a passport office only last Monday. I hadn't requested any special or expedited processing, so I was very pleasantly surprised to receive it today. What a...

Canada Post mail-handlers strike next week?

I'm talking about receiving the new first-time passport back from them, not couriering my application there. I don't see where there's any option to have the newly-issued passport couriered back to the applicant, rather than Canada Posted.

Canada Post mail-handlers strike next week?

I'm applying for my passport next week but my local postmistress told me yesterday that one of the Canada Post unions is likely to go on strike from about the 26th, and that it could last up to a month or longer. I'm going to drive 5hrs to drop-off my passport application in person at the...

Passport photo requirements/specs the same for 1st-time Canada passport applicants?

The helpful girl who just took my picture told me that the person who'll sign as my photo guarantor has to have (a.) known me for two (2) years (which is fine by me), and (b.) that the guarantor individual must have FIVE (5) YEARS of validity left on her/his own Canadian passport. Is the five...

Passport photo requirements/specs the same for 1st-time Canada passport applicants?

I'm heading up to town this morn to go get my passport pics taken (yay!). Has anyone who's applied for their FIRST Canada passport recently tell me whether there's anything special that we need to do/know for our 1st time? I have a 5hr drive to get to the nearest Passport Office next week, so...

If you don’t drive and you live 2hrs or more from test interview how do you get IRCC centre.

There are a lot of us out here in rural Canada smiling at reading of all the distance problems you city folk are having getting to your tests/interviews/oaths.

Personal experiences generally are that it does take 3 to 4 weeks.

I'm figuring-out what to buy myself as a gift when this is all over...

I went up to Churchill, MB, as a poor backpacker by VIA Rail from Winnipeg at Xmas in 2001. I stayed in a nice little basic hotel, and got to meet Brian Ladoon, who's an artist & entrepreneurial kind of guy who raises Canadian Eskimo Dogs there, and who also looks after polar bears who are...

I'm figuring-out what to buy myself as a gift when this is all over...

That sounds lovely. The bears that you saw, were they grizzlies or black bears or some other kind? I'm celebrating with a glass of red wine this evening, after working a half-shift at my survival job here. It's truly amazing how much more 'at home' and safer I feel now that I'm a full...

    My Citizenship Interview Process Today

Yup, they did that here this morning. They delayed the start of the Test so that latecomers could have a chance to get in before they closed the exam room doors. Meanwhile, I'm busting to pee and thinking damn the stragglers.

In my case, they just wanted to see that I have my PR card with me, as I'll have to give that over to them this aft.

I just passed the Test, scoring 20/20. The Interview bit was a breeze, with a delightful Officer. They've just kindly invited me to take the Oath here this afternoon. I'm so happy.
