Hi all, 1) Do we need to carry self-attested photocopies of documents for OCI walk-in submission at BLS Toronto? 2) Do we upload scanned self-attested photocopies or scanned originals on the OCI portal?

By sticker visa, I mean that they will stamp it in your passport . In this case, if you apply for a tourist visa, it will be stamped in your passport.

I said I am here for passport surrender and I am sorry that I chose the wrong appointment type.

Unfortunately e-visas are not available for Canadians. You can apply for sticker visa. From what I have heard on this forum, the processing time is not bad for sticker visas.

I was able to use my visa appointment for passport surrender at BLS Brampton today. The security guard asked me about the appointment type but he was nice enough to let me in. You should be okay. Just be polite and respectful if they ask!

Hi all, I am planning to try walk-in for surrendering my Indian passport. Both Toronto and Brampton locations work for me. Does anyone have any recent experience with walk-ins? If it takes a long time to get in, I will try to book an appointment. Appreciate your inputs!

Update: Picked up my passport today at the Passport office in Scarborough. I was asked to go directly to the second floor and join the queue for pick-up. The queue was not bad. It took me 15 mins to get my passport. Timeline Apr 11th - In-person submission at Service Canada location in Oshawa...

I am not sure about that. My ID had my new address.

1) I received the certificate 7/8 days after the oath ceremony date. 2) The officer asked me for my address as part of the verification process ( They ask to show your ID ) .She said my address is not up to date. Would I like her to update it? I said Yes. Done.

During the oath ceremony, they confirm your mailing address. They asked me my address and said that they still have my old address on file. They updated it and sent the certificate to my new address. I would suggest you ask them during the ceremony. It would not also hurt to use the forwarding...

I contacted my MP last week and they reached out to the passport office. Got the same canned response.

Applied in person at Service Canada, Oshawa location on Apr 11th ( Regular processing, no travel dates) Expected mail-out date - May 11th Called yesterday. Response - Your file is still under examination. ETA none.

Applied on Apr 11th at Service Canada in Oshawa. The expected mail out date is tomorrow. I called them today and they said it may take another one month for processing :(
