There are a lot of professions which you can aim for. A realtor for instance is pretty lucrative here. A business of import/export does wonders here as most of the stuff is imported from ROW. If you had a garment business, you could explore that option. A job is not the end of the world for...

It's definitely illegal to mail passport. They're the property of the government and should only be held by the person whom they're issued to. PR Card on the other hand is a completely different story.

Not going to sugarcoat it for you. Engineering jobs are tough for outsiders. But if you have the experience to back up your education, it becomes much easier. If you're planning on moving, I'd suggest taking up a 1 year masters program over here. Coursera or Edx look good on a resume but aren't...

I'd seriously recommend taking the role that you're getting in Alliston. Nothing beats a permanent job as soon as you land. You can start looking for new job opportunities as soon as you settle down. The steady stream of income goes a long way. If the visa is valid till May, accept the job...

It opens in Jan. Doesn't really get stagnant in March. Companies hire throughout the year. It's just that the hiring gets really slow during December due to the vacations and year ends. So it picks up pace in January and sort of opens up.

March would be the better time. You're going to get chewed apart by the cold in January. Everything is clad in white. The roads are a mess. The sidewalks are a mess. When it gets windy, you better be inside. March is much more bearable.

To be honest, I don't see a lot of people going for part time courses. Usually, people go for full time courses which still allow them to work part time jobs. For e.g. a lot of tellers at the banks are actually students at universities who work either early morning or weekend shifts to...

I went with Manulife. Get insurance from Canada and get it from the big players. No point chasing people for claims later on. It's too much of a hassle. The premium would be a bit high, but it's for the better. Airbnb in Toronto that has decent public transit access would be a good start. The...

So many queries. I'm sorry I've been not so active on this forum anymore. Like mentioned by the people in here, April's not too cold. You don't need to splurge on the winter gear. Forget the boots, a warm pair of socks is good enough. Try to get the winter jacket in clearance or boxing day...

Hey, Considering your experience, you shouldn't have a lot of trouble finding good roles in finance. Landing in March/April 2018 is a good decision. You wouldn't wanna come here in winters. Nope. Never got asked for POF. I had all the documents handy though.I had SBI & HDFC. It's going to be easier finding a job in accounting than auditing. You'll have to get a CPA qualification to have a good chance in this field. Auditors get paid depending upon the firm and the position. A...

Alright guys. An update. It's been more than four months at work. I've really enjoyed my time so far. The organization is fast paced as compared to the Canadian work place. That means lot of work and long hours. But I enjoy every single minute of it. The co-workers are amazing. The work's good...
