AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

We received PPR Thursday evening (Feb 9th). So only one day after I saw DM in ECAS. I emailed the Vienna office because it wasn't that clear whether we needed to send in new passport photos again and a copy of my husband's passport or not. The letter said only if there were changes to your...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi Lebron-J, I didn't receive any correspondence yet about the decision made. I checked ECAS and there it says decision made so now we just have to wait for the official email or letter...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Congrats! Wow that's a long time to get through immigration! We're also going to Vancouver island but planned on staying in Vancouver overnight just because I wasn't sure how long everything would take once we landed. Sounds like it can take quite a while...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Sorry, I don't have any advice. My husband is also from the Netherlands and our app is also being processed in Ottawa. Strange that the copr comes from Vienna...! Also you already received copr but they're asking you to send your passport in with two photos? Doesn't make any sense to me ???

Proof of intention to move to Canada

We wrote about half a page explaining why we wanted to move to Canada (we want to raise our children there, quality of life, etc) and what we had done up until that point. Which was actually pretty minimal. We had asked a moving company for an offer to get an idea of prices, looked into the job...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yay!! Background check is "in progress"! Finally :D Now fingers crossed that it doesn't take another two months.... ??? And btw, we pay over a $1000 to file our application and get the permit. I think it's more than fair to expect to be able to call in several times for that amount. And when...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I'm pretty sure I have read somewhere on this forum that to import a vehicle you can't just "flagpole" in the sense that you do to enter as a resident. It was a more complicated process, like you have to stay in the U.S. for 72 hours or something like that. So maybe that's what she was trying to...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Wow! so much action today!!! Congrats to everyone who has had movement on their file! :D Feeling kind of depressed though, cause we got a message in our inbox and I was all excited thinking maybe it would be ppr or dm, but instead it was a document request for our marriage license which we...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Actually it depends on which province you'll be living in. We're moving to BC and there you do have a 3 month wait period. So we have to arrange private insurance for those three months. I think there are two or three other provinces with the same wait period but don't know which ones.

How to get a Canadian virtual Mobile No. for Job hunt while abroad

We are also using flynumber. It wasn't expensive, compared to some of the other companies, and apparently you can cancel at any time. So far we've only used it once or twice to check that it actually works ::) it works and the call quality is good.

Landing goods to follow - come back at later date

Does she have excessive amounts of jewelry or something? :P What kind of extra details do they require? Monetary value? I'm curious since we'll be in the same situation in a few months. I can't imagine you've screwed anything up. Just need to satisfy them with the required information (whatever...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

We're in the same boat... I think we got SA around Sept 26, and since then have heard nothing... :( Frustrating when you see that lots of September applicants already have background check in process.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi all, We just received my husband's criminal record check. I want to upload it in to myCIC but can't figure out how to do it... ??? Please help!! Or is it better to wait until they request it? I'm thinking it will be better for our processing time if we can already upload it before they ask...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hmmmm, strange. Did you pay $550 in total or $75 application fee + $550? In that case it would make sense because you should only pay: Sponsorship Application Fee: $75.00 Principal Applicant Fee: $475.00

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Our file is being processed in Ottawa but our background check is not in progress yet :'( Our case is very straightforward, together 11 years, married for 6, have two kids together. But normally we would be going through Vienna as my husband is Dutch and we live in the Netherlands, so maybe...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

In the Netherlands, where we're applying from, you can't get a police check done without an official request. So we have to wait for the request... ::)
