It looks like the Beijing Visa Office request the Passport as soon as they receive your application, before even processing it. They clearly say in the letter that it doesn't mean anything good or bad... and that it will take about 6 months processing even though it says 4 months on CIC website...

I can log-in into e-Cas as of Nov 5th but my wife (Principal Applicant) still can't log-in yet. I can see DM but Permanent Residence Status is: Not Available (That means our files has not been arrived in Beijing yet??) Do we have the same Client ID ? Do we see different infos if she log-in...

I guess it depends how far you are from Mississauga, but I'd say within 5 business days.

Hi filipina, I do the same thing and have the same results ;) I assume they don't do anything to your application before an agent open your package a month after, and do everything in a couple of hours. Create your ID number, send you an email and letter and send your package to the visa...
