    PR vs Citizenship Residency Requirements

I am drawing information from these statements on the cic website. Am I interpreting this incorrectly? You may also count days outside of Canada as days that you meet the residency obligation in these situations: Situation 1. Accompanying a Canadian citizen outside Canada You may count each...

    PR vs Citizenship Residency Requirements

Hey there - I am American, married to a Canadian citizen. I have a current PR card, expiring in 3 weeks. I am seeking to renew it and I would love clarification. We have lived in the US before and ever since I got my PR status in 2017. We have been together the entire time and it is our...

    National Nursing Assessment Centre NNAS

Can someone walk me through the general steps of the process of transferring a BSN RN license from Washington state to British Columbia? I am a US citizen/Canadian PR, my husband is a Canadian citizen/US PR. He is the one who will be working in Canada. We have been living in the States for 6+...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Andddd we are DONE. We landed today at the border and it was so easy. Kind, courteous and efficient. We were inside for maybe 20-25 minutes. They processed my COPR and then my "goods to follow" form. {all goods are to follow as we are not actually moving yet}. They attached a copy of my COPR to...

    Serial Number Questions on BSF186

I'm compiling the list of goods to import when we land tomorrow and curious as to whether or not I have to list the serial number for every single item that has one? Almost all of my husbands tools have serial numbers but most of what I have seen says to lump things together and call it good...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I should have clarified. I know that importing a car is more extensive (we imported a car into Canada 7 years ago) than listing it on the form but for what we are doing tomorrow, listing it is all we need to do? We list it under conveyances and then actually import it when we move. Right?

    US outland applicants' thread :)

We are landing at a land border on Tuesday morning. From previous questions I have asked, I know that I don't need anything besides my passport, COPR and my BSF186 form. Two things: we aren't landing AND moving on Tuesday, just landing - moving at a later date. Our entire form will be considered...

I don't receive my card then - they mail it to whatever Canadian address that I provide, right?

    Landing w/o Moving Yet

Happy to help! I was so relieved when it opened back up last year. What a process, right? I'm incredibly grateful for this forum. I literally could have lost my mind if it wasn't for the guidance and encouragement from others walking the same road. :)

CDNPR2014, you have always been so helpful. I remember your input last year when we were in process. Thank you for your time, energy and effort. I know I can't be the only one benefitting! :)

We received my PR approval last year but for various reasons, we haven't landed yet. My application expires 3/24 so we are going to be landing in the next week or two. We will not be moving immediately but know we have to land and declare what items we will be moving so as to not pay import fees...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Got my COPR in the mail today. Sent from Ottawa, sent to the Seattle area.

Things are still up in the air so it might not be an issue at all. How would it work with importing goods down the road? If I filled out a goods to follow form, would it still be valid even if my COPR expiration date has passed?

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I received DM about 10 days ago so I'm expecting my COPR in the mail in a bit. My COPR will expire March 13, 2017. My question is this: we have had some things come up in the past week that will likely require us to stay here in the US for longer than my COPR is valid. Do I have any options at...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

CIC seems so inconsistent in how they send out information. I received an email on the 17th of May about how they needed my FBI check. Then yesterday I received a brown envelope in the mail from CIC that I thought maybe was my COPR since I got DM last week but nope - snail mail request for my...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

So a person can land but not move immediately so long as they're there for 2 or 3 of the next 5?

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Random thought I had: what happens if a person is granted PR but decides NOT to land? Anything? Does the process just start again if they decide to do it in the future? Does it negatively effect them for that application?
