FBI background check is being sent late - What's going to happen?

I completely forgot to mail my FBI background check. It's been sent now and I've notified them it's going to be late. They gave me an additional 30 days. It's going to take longer than that, so I informed them again that it's going to be late. Are they going to refuse my application because...

    Medical Exam in New Brunswick

Hey! I'm wondering if any fellow NB residents have recently completed the medical exam. I was just quoted $670 for the X-ray alone. This sounds outrageous. Advice?

    US car in Canada

I'm already in Canada. My last border crossing was Oct. 2015.

    US-registered car in Canada

I just did that. They told me that because I'm moving to Canada I will require Canadian insurance. I tried to explain that my status in Canada is currently only temporary, but she didn't seem to understand. So frustrating.

    US car in Canada

I just called my insurance company and stated my circumstances. They said that because I'm moving to Canada I need Canadian insurance. Since I don't have permanent status in Canada, I wonder if that is actually true.

    US-registered car in Canada

I just received my OWP (valid for two years). My license, car, and insurance are all American. I'm not ready to import my car as there are some recall issues that I need to have fixed first. What is the best method for insuring my car to ensure that I have proper coverage in Canada? Are there...

REGARDING OCT. AND NOV. 2015 INLAND APPLICATIONS

It's possible. I'd give a call for an update. The agent I spoke with yesterday forwarded my information (tracking number of package, receipt numbers, etc.) to the processing centre to have it located.

REGARDING OCT. AND NOV. 2015 INLAND APPLICATIONS

If you're experiencing an issue with the CIC not being able to locate your file, etc. contact your local MP: http://www.lop.parl.gc.ca/ParlInfo/compilations/houseofcommons/memberbypostalcode.aspx?Menu=HOC Let's hope this is resolved soon.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

I prefer to imagine the CIC officers sitting around, using stacks of our files as tables for coffee and pastries, and wondering why no one submitted any applications in October and November.

Updated Processing Times for Inland OWP/PR

I read something of that sort this morning. I asked the agent and she wasn't able to verify it because the CIC hasn't officially announced anything. Losing two months of applications would be absolutely ridiculous. Let's hope that's not the case.

Updated Processing Times for Inland OWP/PR

This is insane. I'm utterly disgusted by this system.

Updated Processing Times for Inland OWP/PR

I just spoke with the CIC call centre. The agent informed me that they've updated processing times and are currently working on OWP/PR applications through mid-late December. My application was received on Oct. 19, 2015, but they don't have any record of it. The agent took down my receipt...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

My application was received on Oct. 19, 2015. I haven't received my AOR or OWP. It's going to take at least 4 months, maybe more. When I spoke with the CIC yesterday, the agent informed me that they're working on applications up to Sept. 29. I completely understand the stress, as I'm in a...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

I know I understand your reasoning. Similarly, when I fist moved to Canada with my common-law partner who was beginning grad school in Montreal, I was issued an OWP. One year later, I was accepted into a grad. program also in Montreal and was issued a student permit. I was able to keep both my...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

I called the CIC call centre again last night to confirm that I hadn't done anything wrong. Once again, I was advised that my OWP remains valid.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

I called the CIC this morning and the representative said they're processing up to September 29. The CIC received my application on Oct. 19, 2015, but I haven't received an AOR. In fact, my application hasn't even been added to the system. So frustrating.

    OWP and Implied Status

We had received initial sponsorship approval, so I never thought about it. The CIC also confirmed in my application's refusal email that I was authorized to remain in Canada until the permit expired. I really hope they would have communicated with me if I was supposed to leave the country.
