    The highly coveted COPR document

I do find it funny that the visitor extension, so visitor record I guess, has security seals and unique paper etc. and the COPR is just a piece of normal paper with no unique identifiers on it.

Checklist - am i missing anything important??

Sounds like he/she did 15 years of history back to age 20-21 or so but they requested that they do all the way back to 18. You don't need to do anything before 18, so don't worry about high school (unless you were 18 in your final year of high school i guess)

Checklist - am i missing anything important??

Yep, personal history just requires the activity and what city and country you were doing it in, the addresses where you lived during that time comes later on in the form.

36 days for Sponsor assessment Now instead of 47 :)

No. The 17 months is for 80% of applications across all VO's, so it really is a meaningless stat for most people.

Unable to provide police check - will CIC be ok with the following?

Hell, CIC has given DM to Americans who just sent in a receipt showing they applied for the FBI check, and never actually supplied it to them.

Guidance with sponsoring an american spouse to Canada

A lot of Canadians and Americans who have not looked into immigration at all are under the impression you can move and work between the two at will.

UCI number - do they change?

Often you will see on here the doctors office requesting UCI's because they are used to doing medicals that have been requested by CIC, so part through way an application compared to up front medicals.

UCI number - do they change?

Yes, UMI was the acronym I was trying to remember. UCI's have nothing to do with it.

UCI number - do they change?

They don't create a UCI, on the printoff you are given at the end of your medical, it will have a number on it (from memory an IME number) that will allow CIC to find your medical in the emedical database. You include the printoff in your application.

Guidance with sponsoring an american spouse to Canada

CIC sometimes forgets to send out letter/email notifying SA, probably what has happened in his/her case.

Guidance with sponsoring an american spouse to Canada

I'll break it down for you. Apply ASAP outland. The whole PR process will likely take 4-8 months. If she is denied the visitor extension there is no 'visitor visa' for Americans, she will have to go to the border with proof of the PR application and take her chances with whatever CBSA guard she...

Visitor records can be issued to visa-exempt people as well.

    CPP-Ottawa

If this forum is anything to go by, a tiny sample size none the less, I'd say theres a decent chance that if you're in Canada with valid status when you apply that it goes to Ottawa.

Guidance with sponsoring an american spouse to Canada

Yes wondering that as well, outland app through Ottawa was/is almost taking the amount time it is for visitor extensions (recently they have cleared a big backlog it seems). But you would have quite likely seen DM or be close to it if you had applied soon after the wedding.

Guidance with sponsoring an american spouse to Canada

This is a no brainer, do not apply inland. Apply outland. You'll just have to wait and see if the visitor extension is approved, you should be getting a decision on that anyday now.

Study permit expired while waiting for decision

Not entirely sure about how that works for study permits, maybe it expires 90 days after the study permit expiration date and not 90 days after ceasing taking the course? Might be better off asking in the international students forum. But you can apply online to change your status to visitor anyway
