I recently renewed my British passport from Canada. The process was actually surprisingly short so you might be okay. I would still request an extension from CIC though just in case. Here's my timeline for British passport renewal from Feb of this year. After filling out the online info, sent...

Using Canadian Work Experience to Partially Meet Work Criteria for FSW

I don't believe it's foreign work experience only. I was selected for the FSW stream even though I also qualified for CEC. My skilled experience was Canadian only - none from my home country or any other country. One of the requirements is that the experience must be at least one year and in...

BOWP - HOW TO CONTINUE WORKING UNDER IMPLIED STATUS?

Revenue Canada has no problem taking your money even with an expired SIN :P

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

That might be a bit risky as you'd probably have to prove that you weren't working after your permit expires (and it's hard to prove a negative) - if your permit has expired by the time you land. Don't forget, they could still deny you your PR at the border, it's just rare as all of the checks...

Not everyone has to send new photos. Some people have had requests and some get their card without any photo resubmission. I think there was an increase in the amount of photo resubmission requests due to the photo specification change back in November (ish?). So if the photos you sent with your...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hmmm, interesting. I guess it just depends on the province then as in Alberta, I got my full five year license and a "congratulations" from the registry agent! It will probably depend also on the institution then on whether you can start looking into mortgages and other loans. Silly that you...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

No, you don't get a temporary PR card but you should be able to use your copy of your COPR for such transactions. After landing, you and the border officer will have signed off and dated it so this will be your proof that you are a PR as of your landing date until your card comes through. The...

Anyone got PR Card who landed on Jan 2016?

Landed January 25th, 2016 with my common-law partner at Toronto Pearson. Received both PR cards March 24th, 2016. No photo re-submission requested for either of us. If you don't get asked for new photos, your PR card is probably not far off being delivered.

Anyone with less than or barely 6mnts US stay and no FBI PCC got a PPR recently?

I was in the states for just over two and a half months in 2009 and was never asked for or submitted a FBI PCC. This is probably too short of a time frame though.
