Wife got pregnant before BC msp coverage begins

One more thing. Don't forget that some immigrants come to Canada because they hope and wish for a better future, especially work wise, money wise. Some leave everything behind and just have "some" bucks to start. Not a good start when bills for medical help eat up the money. :)

Wife got pregnant before BC msp coverage begins

steaky... I'm not against moving but I, as a parent think and you can read it often on this forum and elsewhere that people move from one country to another (or Province), plus being pregnant but don't know nothing about the health care system. I just don't understand. That is risky, end of...

Wife got pregnant before BC msp coverage begins

Do you agree that it would make sense to look up their website to get all information or maybe call them directly? http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/msp MSP won't cover anything until she is eligible. Until then it's all on you. Please don't get this wrong, I am a...

    pregnant without BC MSP

Premium is the monthly "rate" you have to pay. The premium depends on the income. ---> http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/msp/bc-residents/premiums Leon is right, I also know someone who had to pay back what was oovered by BC MSP. She had been in BCfor about 4 years...

Will CIC not mail in PR Card to ur address if they know you have left Canada ?

I am sorry to hear about your situation! But, many immigrants are in the same situation, many leave part of their family behind and we all know life gets in the way all the time. We also know about our obligations as PR's. Or at least we should know. In 2011 my step-dad got very sick and he...

    credit history?

It depends on the Bank and on your personal income etc. RBC seems to (from what I experienced and heard) issue a cc after (+/-) 6 month. Depending on your income (and I wouldn't lie because a Bank can check on you if they believe you've given accurate information!) you won't even need to get a...

Application for new PR card sent, what are the timelines?

My friends application was delivered on April 1/2016 and she got a message from IRCC at the end of April that her application had been received. eCas hasn't been a real "help" in regards to the status but she got a message a few days ago, that her card is ready for pick up. I think it really...

Application for new PR card sent, what are the timelines?

Three weeks is nothing. You might have to wait three, four, five month, depending on all kinds of reasons. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp Better relax :)

    2016 PR CARD APPLICANTS TIMELINE

My friend applied for renewal in April 2016. IRCC received application on April 1st, started processing on April 27th (I believe) and she got an email a few days ago that she has to pick up her new card in early September. So it took a while even though IRCC didn't ask for any documents / photos...

    Renting an apartment before arriving

I would never step into a 6 or 12 month rental agreement, no matter what's written on the internet!! Airbnb is expensive, thanks to greedy people... Another option could be a short stay at a motel. There are good ones out there and from what I know (tried it myself, friends did too) some...

Short Travel to US (PR Card Lost)

The reason I brought this up is that yes, you're a PR: with a visa exempt passport and not eligible for the eTA. That might be a good thing in your case 'cause at this point your passport might be enough to board the plane back home to Canada. The lienency period seems to be a period where...

Short Travel to US (PR Card Lost)

Not sure about that... The leniency period is soon over but some Airlines might want to see either a TD or a PR card. You should look up the information on the Airlines website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas-all.asp Alles Gute! :)

Short Travel to US (PR Card Lost)

If you go by private vehicle you'll be fine with your passport and your CoPR (& expired PR card). I would apply for a new PR card anyways and, if you get asked by the officer about the expired card you can tell him / her that you already applied for a new card. Relax :)

    Apartments Vancouver or Montreal?

I find those quetions hard to answer because only you know what's important to you. The term "simple apartment" isn't very helpful. Maybe you should look up craigslist Vancouver (possibly Richmond if you want to be close to work) and craigslist Montreal...

GST/HST credit: Date of entry into Canada?

I would send them a letter stating that your first entry as an international student has been 2006 + month + day and that on 2015 + month + day you became a PR (your SIN changed!). And I would write down all the dates when you left Canada (+ came back) after your first entry (all the way from...
