    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

The link basically says either you have to be on work permit in Canada or to have provincial nomination if outside of Canada. Anyhow, owner/operator job is kind of exempt from LMIA (no advertising or recruitment is required), and as far as my research goes most of the mid-level entrepreneurs...

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

This is a really old thread, but instead of opening a new topic I'll ask the question here since it's a variant of the initial one. Right, so a foreigner opens a company in Canada (this is totally doable). He's the owner of and in fact an employee in that company and operates that company...

Business and/or work experience - BC PNP

Hi there, As per the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Program Guide (PDF) one to be eligible to apply needs to have more than three years of experience as an active business owner-manager. They specify that an active owner-manager (business ownership of 10 per cent or more) is a person who have...

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

He won't be applying for LMIA for himself per se. The corporation (which by the law is an entity legally separate from the owners, founders, directors, etc.) will be applying for LMIA for that particular person.

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

Understood. But anyways, a foreigner can undeniably start a company in Canada. It can be done entirely online (via agency), except opening a merchant bank account, which must be done in person, in the bank, by the founder. That can be done via visitor visa issued upon an invitation by the...

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

So what about the following scenario: 1. A foreigner creates a company in Canada (in some provinces a foreigner can open a corporation in Canada without the need to include Canadian(s) and he can act as a one-person corporation.) 2. CIC grants him a temporary visa to run his company on the...

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

So basically, as far as this argument goes, a Start-up is not eligible to hire foreigners unless it has a history of revenue, tax return, etc. for at least 12 months prior to LMIA application?

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

This is the crucial info. A company won't be able to provide these documents if it doesn't have at least one person on payroll, reasonable balance of finances, and some minimal tax return in the last 12 months. I mean it can, but if the company is only dormant (meaning no revenue, zero tax...

    Employer/Job Offer/LMIA

Hi, I was wondering what conditions and constraints a company, an employer, have to satisfy in order to hire a foreign worker except to acquire LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) and issue a job offer for that worker? For example are there any other particular constraints, like for example...

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

Can't disclose it. Visit the websites of the designated accelerators and on most of them there's info on how much equity they want (from 0% to 10%+) and what fee they charge (from none to several thousands CAD per month). Make sure you browse their websites well and dig that info up. Those...

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

You make an interesting point. It is possible that a very large sum of money will slow down the process significantly since they will have to probably verify each one and every source from which that money came. And that's intensive and time consuming process. But, if you have that kind of...

Never said I personally own that kind of money. Only exploring various possible situations.

Proving Freelance Experience in NOC 2175

The difference here is that you had a guide licence (I assume issued by a governmental body, and valid for a specific period of time). Can you please clarify what standard they wanted for the letter?

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

Not entirely true, or should I say not precise enough. Not to repeat myself, but Manitoba provincial business immigration program requires only $150,000 investment and $350,000 net worth. Some designated accelerators for the federal Start-up immigration program require some percent of the equity...

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

That might be true about the Express Entry, but not quite true in general, since people with money and lucrative businesses can use other immigration programs and land in Canada without going through all the hustle that "ordinary" folks must go through. In short, in a way, legit money can indeed...

Proving Freelance Experience in NOC 2175

I guess you're right. CIC official will eventually judge if what I have is sufficient to prove my NOC experience or not. But, knowing in advance the rules about what is exactly needed for proving freelance experience would have been nice.

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

I've already explored the start-up lane. Designated ordinary (free) start-up incubators in Canada will only accept EXTRAORDINARY world-class business ideas so that option goes out of the question, while "costly" incubators require 15% equity of my business and plus $120K to enroll me in their...

Question for Provincial Nominee Program for Business in Manitoba.

I'm afraid that's not true. You need to invest $150,000 minimum in a tangible assets in your OWN business in Manitoba. Tangible means offices, car, computers, etc. If you wish to invest in an already existing business in Manitoba you need to own 33% of that business and cache out $1 million minimum.

Proof of funds - CDN $0.5 million

The question is simple. Will CDN $0.5 million proof of funds expedite the application in any way? If you provide that kind of bank statement/history, along with all the other necessary documentation (education, work experience, English language proficiency, etc.) will that put you in favorable...

    Explanation about NOC 0433

Thanks Gustcan. I too think there are no quotas on NOCs. But, the title of the NOC 0433 is completely illogical. No alien can ever have experience as a member of the Canadian forces, unless he's a PR in which case the immigration application is irrelevant. Further more in the description of the...
