    if 13k CAD for delivery and cost for baby covered since birth then it's really not bad. just similar to private hospital in hk. but was it hard for you to get a family doctor in Toronto? I heard it's difficult in Vancouver. Not sure if that's true.

    yes exactly, we think staying in hk for delivery is best for bb. I've handed in my application just early last week (outland application). I've also done the medical check-up except the x-ray which would be delayed until after baby is born. I'm expecting about 8-10 months, hopefully sooner...

    what we did is that my husband agreed with his current employer that he is going to take 3 months leave (or home-office) around the time I'm giving birth. so that makes the separation now more bearable. hope you will find your way out too! good luck xx
