How many years out of how many years to be eligible for citizenship?

How long can you stay out of Canada after receiving PR? I plan to get my landing done in May'15 and stay in Canada till Oct'15 i.e. for 5 months. How many months can I stay out of Canada before returning back?

That's unfair for someone completing 3 years in say June or July.

So 4/6 will be applicable for everyone or is there any cutoff?

Please guide since there seems to be a confusion.

Congrats qurat Our passports were received by CHC on 4th Feb'15. I thought they process on first come first serve basis but I guess they too are following a random practice.

Guys .. sorry to go off topic but i'm thinking to move to Vancouver instead of Toronto. I don't think I will be comfortable with too much snow. Just that Toronto is more Cosmopolitan with more job prospects but Vancouver has started appealing me now.
