Not surprisingly, I am in Ottawa. I suspect it might take more days if you are outside Ontario.

Just for your information, I applied my 2nd BOWP online on Feb 17, and my status changed on April 21, and received the permit yesterday (April 23) by regular mail. Hope this help!

If I were you, I'd apply for BOWP while waiting for PR. I am also an April applicant, and based on the recent GCMS notes my eligibility status is "recommend passed"; and I also did upfront medicals. My current work permit expires in late May. I thought that I should be able to get PR before...

I haven't received medicals -- I did upfront medicals as I became so impatient. And I am not accompanying my husb -- he's a Canadian citizen. Thanks for the advice.

The first request sounds indeed a bit confusing, given your current situation. If I were you, I would provide both letters (one from your old employer and the other from your current employer), along with a brief explanatory letter. It may be that CIC simply wanted to make sure if you're not...

I am not sure if it helps, but I also did upfront medicals, and emailed CIC the e-medical information sheet just in case. I haven't received MR, but my ECAS status has been updated "Medicals received". I've seen some cases in other threads that some who did upfront medicals have still received...
