Depends on what they have requested for. If it's docs and certs, you can email. If pictures and signed letters, you'll have to mail. Be specific in questions you ask please.

In the same boat, hello! I guess the best idea is to send one passport to Ottawa and attach a hard copy of the letter with it. That's only if you're in Canada though.

Well yes and no. I did upfront meds and sent them reports, ECAS didnn't bother to update for 8 months. Did another upfront and didn't send the reports, but ECAS updated in 3 weeks. So, yea - do send a copy.
