An update. My family got a request for additional documents today. No request for medical exam yet. Apparently it works differently for different countries. I am September 2014 applicant with dependants.

Just an update. I got AIP today through email. It says that visa office will be contacting my family for medical exam and background check. Does anyone know how long it can take to get a medical request from visa office? Please, share any information! I would appreciate it! Thank you!

You don't need to go to the border. Just apply for extantion of your work permit. You'll get it by regular mail.

Yes, I got a request from CIC to send my passport. So I sent it the same day (expresspost). It took to deliver it only 1 day (I live in Ontario). I got my passport with visa back a week later.

Don't worry kenken168, you'll get yours soon! CIC sends it as a regular mail and sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks to deliver it. It depends on the province where you live.

Hello! I've applied for TRV on November 1, 2014. Online application. I got my passport with visa today. So it took only 13 days. As far as I know paper application usually takes longer than online application.
