My family immigrated to Canada in 2009. All of us except my dad; are citizens. My dad couldn't be with us because he was working overseas. His pr card has also expired. If he were to quit and then re-apply for a pr card would there be problem? Also is there a way to know one's immigration...

Me and my family (3 adults 1 minor) sent application on June 9 (via regular mail and now regret it) and haven't heard anything from CIC yet. Does anybody know if there is a particular reason for the lag or has it been like this forever?
