Thanks, Don. Yes ,it is a little bit more than a month for me to get AOR in mail. My e-cas activated from Oct 10 and I got the book on Nov 13.

just a quick update, I finally received AOR and Book yesterday in the mail(Nov 13, 2014).

Yes, you are right. It seems that CIC still just update e-cas without sending out email notifications for some cases. So besides check your email, you should regularly check your e-CAS at CIC website. I applied from Vancouver

I always used client id (UCI) number to check my status online, it was never failed.

just FYI, according to an user on a Chinese immigration forum, a user whose application received by CIC on Aug 8, just received a email notification today.(Oct 16)
