Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Something has changed with the process lately at CIC. My experience differs from the typical CPC-M -> COPR -> Manilla that others got. I got a final decision and appointment for landing at CIC Etobicoke asking the wife to bring 2 photos, passport, and the COPR which wasn't even received yet...

The red stamp is on the printout itself - it's not added by the gov worker at the gu-office post-print. If neither of you are in Korea, then printout from online will be fine.

I don't know what an ARC is, but generally it's a good idea to show them evidence that you are legally in the country you are living in no matter where it is, even if it has nothing to do with your sponsorship

If you still have it, it would show them you were actually there when you said you were. What is the concern?

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hi Everyone, Did anybody here get their COPR after providing personal history (Schedule A) for only the last 10 years? (ie. have a gap between their 18th birthday and 10 years preceding their application). I'm reading now that some people have been asked for personal history to 18 yrs even...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Yup, so I think my process was a bit different. I went to the embassy, signed some papers and paid up - took that doc to the gu office and handed it in with the other paper work to get the marriage certificate. You need to translate the paper into Korean (no need for a certified translation)...

Where to get the pictures taken?

Costco - they know what they are doing and it's really cheap. if you don't have a membership - find someone to take you. As long as the member pays for it and is there, you're fine.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Married in Korea so I have a Korea marriage cert and of course a translated copy. This is a good segway to another question. In Appendix A, it asks for many of the spouse documents in a different order - one of them being the marriage certificate. However, for the sponsor's documents, it's...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thanks everyone. I think I'm just having difficulty picking and choosing. I lost some of my history/logs after replacing my phone twice and computer/hard drive twice, so there are gaps. Also, we used OTO between Korea and Canada (app that allows free calls) so a lot of communication isn't...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thanks! I through it as a common mistake everyone made but this is good news. Kudos to everyone here, your help has been tremendous. I saw the convo about the police check having or not having the lapsed records and I'm happy to see that we have the correct one. We were in Korea in August...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hi Everyone, I've been reading this thread for a few days and there is a lot of helpful info here. Congrats to those who got your PR, it was good to see after all of the questions from last year :) I just wanted to ask, is the Korea "Individual Register - Resident Register" requested by the...
