Can I land and then immediately depart Canada?

Hi all! So I'm an outland US applicant by spousal sponsorship that just received CoPR in the mail. ;D My wife is a Canadian citizen, so we applied with both of us in the US and demonstrated intention to move back to Canada (she just got a job there to start summertime) But the visa deadline...

So then...Can I change my address in CIC to a Canadian address if I am physically in Canada waiting for my outland US PR? Or must it be an American address? Flagpoling means...exiting and immediately reentering? Too bad we're going somewhere far north of the border!

Thanks for the info! A slightly related question: if I am applying for outland PR from the US but I'm physically present in Canada while awaiting the decision, and the decision comes and I'm granted PR -- do I have to exit Canada and come back in to "land"? Also -- do I have to send off my US...

    Medical exam expiring soon

Hi all! sorry if this question has been answered already, but I couldn't find anything on it using the search bar. So I'm planning to apply for US outland PR by spouse (wife is Canadian). I got my medical in July 2015, but we've been delayed in applying for other reasons. Now that I'm about...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Here's the rub: My wife (the Canadian) will already be in Canada, and I (the American) will want to join her two months after she moves here. If my outbound PR application isn't completed by Sept, then can I still enter Canada? I won't have much proof that I want to go back to the States...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Thanks for the advice guys! What does it mean, to have my ducks in a row when crossing the border? I mean, I understand the expression: but what would/might the border officer ask/demand/require of me when I cross? Or what might make them reject me at the border if my outland PR application is...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hi guys! I'm new the process, so please excuse any stupid questions. I've tried reading as much as I can on the CIC website, but my eyes are getting blurry. Here's our situation: I'm American, wife is Canadian. We live in America, she's a medical resident here. We have an infant, he's dual...

Oh, thanks, I was confused there for a bit. Appreciate the info! Is there a place on the forum where people are listing or surveyed on their wait times from application submission to approval for US outbound applicants?

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hello...I am a newbie, so please forgive me if these questions have already been answered on previous pages (though, truth be told, I haven't scoured all 214+ pages of this thread to see if answers to my exact scenario are present, just the first few and last several). Situation: I am American...
