    Passport form typo

This is a dumb question but I have my form done, all signed and I have a passport appointment tomorrow morning. I just realized that there is a tiny mistake in the form. My postal code is wrong on my work address. I just wrote the street address and the post code (no space for anything else)...

Can I use a couple as my passport references?

The two people who have known me the longest in Canada (over 15 years) are Canadian citizens but also a couple who live together. Can I use them as my two references? Also, just to absolutely confirm this.. can my guarantor be my wife? It seems like she can but just confirming. Also, my...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

What proof of need/proof of travel do you need? We just want to visit friends in Seattle. We had it planned a while. I can show a hotel booking in Seattle. Is that enough? Also, has anyone waited in line as a walk in in Vancouver? How long did it take?

    Missed oath ceremony

I thought I’d update this for anyone asking this question again. I got a new date about 6 weeks after my first one. The first thing I noticed was my tracker updated a few days after I sent the email. There wasn’t any note to say why it was updated but I presume it means that they saw my email...

Travelling outside canada without a Canadian passport

haha, the reason I asked is because you usually only get to put one passport number in for a return flight. But, when you put it like that it does seem obvious lol.

Travelling outside canada without a Canadian passport

I have a random question about this. If and when i have a Canadian passport as well as my Irish one. Can I enter Ireland using my Irish passport and then enter Canada using the Canadian one on the way back?

    Missed oath ceremony

Just as a follow up to this. Was my excuse sufficient? I honestly just told the truth that I missed the email due to human error on my part. I would be incredibly gutted if they cancelled the entire application.

    Missed Oath Ceremony

Did you send an email reply to the original email, get an auto response and then just wait for a new date? That's what I've done so far. I'm wondering if there is other stuff I should have done.

    Missed oath ceremony

I'm such an idiot. I was checking my email every day but I let it slip and somehow missed my ceremony invite in the backlog. I just checked my email today and saw it, then saw that I had literally missed my ceremony by hours. I'm so gutted that I missed it. I sent them an email reply and got an...

Tracker says I have citizenship test but no invite by mail or email

I checked my tracker today after not checking for a while, and I see that I have a citizenship test window starting soon and ending a few weeks later. I still haven’t actually received an invite by mail or email. Is there another way I can access the test?

How long does it take for fingerprints to get to immigration?

I had them taken two weeks ago. The guy doing the fingerprints told me that they usually get them pretty quickly but I checked the tracker today and they haven’t updated as having received them. Whats the normal turnaround time? Is there any way to check on what’s happening?

    Are fingerprint requests random?

The letter they send is a little scary with mention of possible issues with the application.

    PR travel question

Quick update: I left and returned without the PR card. It seems like this is possible until march 15 (if visa exempt). It was a piece of cake when back in Canada - the border official just scanned my passport - didn't even ask to see the COPR when I told him I didn't have a card yet. The...

    PR travel question

What are you going to do then? Get the PRTD or chance it? I'm probably just going to go to Ireland and wait on the doc.

    PR travel question

You mean on the way out of the country? On the way in, I'd tell them I'm a PR. If they check and stop you without a PR card on the way out, then I'll cancel the trip.

    PR travel question

mmm well the stamp doesn't explicitly PR. It says the date of landing and then below the document number of my COPR is written in pen. I'm not sure if border control would know what that means or not. edit: also, i'm guessing I wouldn't tell them I'm a tourist. I'll just give them my passport...
