Application received on the LAST day of expiry of current status - does it count????

Hi there I am on a visitor visa which the border agent put the date for JAN 26th. I prepared my SPOUSE SPONSORSHIP INLAND + OPEN WORK PERMIT APPLICATION package (and due to delay in receiving some documents, i managed to send it out just TODAY i.e. JAN 22). I sent it through UPS next day...

Tourist Visa - Need help with a couple of odd issues

They don't do an exit stamp - its true, and if the country you enter only takes a fingerprint (and doesn't give a stamp), its true your passport won't show what date you left canada and when you entered that *other* country. BUT, on the forms, there is a question where you mention your entire...

    TRV applicant

I just went through the same process. I am guessing you applied for the visa online, and then got an email asking for his passport (1-2 days later). If they asked for his passport, go ahead and buy the ticket, they will stamp the passport and send it back (took about 7 days for me)

Tourist Visa - Need help with a couple of odd issues

Got the Visa!! FYI - I got my tourist visa in 11 days from submission day to stamped passport (valid for 6 months, multiple entry even though i asked for a 2 month-single entry) This is in spite of a previous criminal charge (don't worry, I wasn't doing anything shady - it was for protesting...

Tourist Visa - Need help with a couple of odd issues

Exactly. Plus, I am going to admit to the overstay (no doubt about it) because its better to be upfront. I am just scared it'll hurt my tourist visa chances.

Tourist Visa - Need help with a couple of odd issues

Thanks for your reply. - So - how do I explain the overstay? (I know everybody says this and it sounds like an excuse, but I really did have pressing issues: my wife's application for visa for my home country had gotten rejected the 1st time we applied, and it took a while to get a No Objection...

Tourist Visa - Need help with a couple of odd issues

Hi there, I was previously thinking of applying for a PR (to get rid of this constant need of applying for visas again and again), but decided that the matter at hand is slightly more urgent. FACTS - I am NOT from a visa-exempt country - I was on a student permit, then a work permit in Canada...

Desperately need help - have had a rough couple of years

thank you for all your help. On a related topic - given the issues (on post 1), will it be possible for me apply for and get a tourist visa in the meantime? So we could wait for the process to finish in Canada?

Desperately need help - have had a rough couple of years

Its not Form 37 (or it certainly doesn't say so on the document). There are TWO pages. Page 1 comes on the letterhead of "Ministry of Attorney Journal, Ontario Court of Justice Criminal etc etc", with a handwritten note from the Court officer who sent me the document mentioning my document is on...

Desperately need help - have had a rough couple of years

Thanks for your response. I also had a question regarding the importance of REFERENCE letters. Do we need them? And if yes, can i get 1-2 from the wife's family (who have spent a lot of time with me in Canada), another 1 from a former employer, and 1 from a current employer. I have seen in...

Desperately need help - have had a rough couple of years

Wow - Thanks for the quick response. TWO QUESTIONS 1) You will need to provide your Court Document stating that the charge was withdrawn. I contacted the county court where this case was withdrawn, and as I am outside the country, the lady faxed me a copy of the document which says it was...

Desperately need help - have had a rough couple of years

Hi there, Before posting this, I have done a fair amount of research, and I understand there's no right answer to my questions till the CIC sends you that letter - so all i am looking for is some professional opinion. Past 4 years have been very rough, so i cant afford a lawyer, so asking for...
