    Spousal sponsorship

This makes sense. I was reading the instructions given for United States for the Family Class sponsorship application and I was wondering why they'd want to know so much about people who would not be coming to Canada with me.

    Spousal sponsorship

This is stupid but what constitutes a "family member"? I see things like "You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete blah blah blah". Is it family that will be coming with me to Canada? Is it immediate family (parents, siblings, children) even if they will not be...

So... You're moving - What do you take?

I will be taking one suitcase of clothes- maybe two if I can afford to buy another one. I will have what's left. I'm lucky (I suppose) because I live with my parents and have very few possessions of my own I can't bear to part with. My knitting needles, some plush animals, a few books and a blanket.

Interesting, thank you.. I expected these though, and we have plans on getting a joint credit card and a joint bank as well as saving any proof of us living together (letters, rent receipts, etc). This is of the photos, plane and bus stubs, and the chat logs I'm collecting to establish that we...

Thank you for your help. I guess I am being a worry wart about it all. We were planning on getting married after I finished University but I brought it up to him and he said he'll think about it. However maybe I'm blind but there appears to be no difference be common law spouses and married...

IEC + Family Class - anyone ever done this? Help!

I am a US citizen in a relationship with a Canadian citizen (3 years at this point). We've both decided that Canada is the best place for us. The current plan is for me to move to Canada initially as part of an IEC program, and we move in together. The program will let me stay for a year, and...

SWAP to common law marriage to PR?

Thank you. What kind of proof do they ask for? I have plane/bus ticket stubs, photos of us together from my trips, and our friends and family all know that we're together (and have been for 3 years) and I've seen people talk about submitting like 500 pages worth of chat logs and I'm wondering if...
