Transfer US Social Security checks to Canada?

That's what I've been doing but the US bank I use has started charging fees for not using other bank features (debit card, etc.). SS direct deposits to it and I write one check a month. That's the only activity in my account. I've tried calling SS, at several different numbers, leaving...

Transfer US Social Security checks to Canada?

It's been over 3 years since I started this thread. I'm just now seriously considering getting a US account through my BMO bank. I'm so afraid something similar is going to mess up my transferring my SS pay to the US account. You guys have me feeling nervous again. Maybe I should contact SS by...

    PR renewal, what if ill?

I had a stroke 2 years ago and lost the ability to remember things. I have since regained my memory. So, what if that had happened during the time for my renewal? I wouldn't even have been aware it needed done, and Hubs was so caught up in helping me to recover, he wouldn't have remembered...

Renewing PR card is same as applying first time?

I finally got my PR card in the mail. I was reading online how to renew (in 5 years) so I would know what documents to keep for doing that. What I read was they require us to go through the whole process again -- same as when I first applied?? That makes no sense to me! Can anyone point me to...

Transfer US Social Security checks to Canada?

Thanks for the replies! I have an account with BOM but not sure they do that. I'll call next week and see. I mainly wondered if it would pay off to have the check transferred here by contacting the SS office, because I'd read they may reduce the amount. .... Or just leave things as they are.

Transfer US Social Security checks to Canada?

I'm a PR and have lived here almost a year. I've been getting my Social Security checks direct deposit to my US bank for years. When I moved here, I started transferring the money, through PayPal to my bank here. Should I continue doing that, now that I'm an official PR, or can I contact the...

Actually, I did a lot of research on that last year. The only way an American can 'get away with' going to Cuba, as a tourist, is to fly out of Canada or Mexico ..... and return the same way. And, so far, it's still the same policy.
