I had a stroke 2 years ago and lost the ability to remember things. I have since regained my memory. So, what if that had happened during the time for my renewal? I wouldn't even have been aware it needed done, and Hubs was so caught up in helping me to recover, he wouldn't have remembered...

I finally got my PR card in the mail. I was reading online how to renew (in 5 years) so I would know what documents to keep for doing that. What I read was they require us to go through the whole process again -- same as when I first applied?? That makes no sense to me! Can anyone point me to...

Thanks for the replies! I have an account with BOM but not sure they do that. I'll call next week and see. I mainly wondered if it would pay off to have the check transferred here by contacting the SS office, because I'd read they may reduce the amount. .... Or just leave things as they are.

Actually, I did a lot of research on that last year. The only way an American can 'get away with' going to Cuba, as a tourist, is to fly out of Canada or Mexico ..... and return the same way. And, so far, it's still the same policy.
