Hi All, Its is a big concern for me.i just read it, that after completing the course when your visa gets expired you have to show funds again to extend your visa, when you apply for post graduation work permit..if this is true,then how much and what sort of fund can you show?need advise!

hey guys, for which course are you guys going? i am also going to VIU for MA in leisure management.I am just waiting for my visa. I have booked the peerstay,VIU has arranged peerstay @ CAD 450 per month, which i think is not too expensive..would suggest you to look for homestay/peerstay..better...

dont go for homestay, i would suggest you to go for peerstay, thats better..atleast yoi can cook and eat whatever you want to..in homestay there are certain restriction which i personally do not like..rest it will be your decision..best of luck!!!

no, you should ask your bank for the swift details,which includes your name and GIC account no, without that neither you nor scotiabank will be able to track the payment..do ask for it..even if by any chance you have to ask for refund from scotiabank they would require the swift copy..no...

no showing an accommodation is not neccesary for visa..however once u will treach canada, the immigration officer might ask you for the same..though i am not really sure.

@naumanayubi..i have same concern..my profile is some how similar to your profile..i have a degree in Linguistics, studied in Germany for two semseters, good financ..total 7 in IELTS..however i have applied to a masters program, which is somehow linked with my previous education i.e. Masters...

they are saying hign volume of applications..how is it possible, is the entire india moving to canada under SPP..lol..max to max they are receiving 20-25 applications(which i dont think so, too huge)..again not a big deal for any bank,as our indian banks open more than 100 accounts a day.. had...

I guess we can get some information to escalate this issue from VFS..since they are regularly in touch with CHC..let me find out some info..will post it here, if found!!

Guys just think,till now you have no account opened, when would you get account details, when would you trandfer money and when would you get GIC Certificate..the last date for GIC is 26th July 2013 AND last date for applying visa is 1st august..i am feeling like keeling and suing scotiabank..

Anyone got GIC Certificate tonight..please let me know...pray for all of you. :(

Lets unite and find an Escalation point for this stupid scotiabank ..i mean this is heights man..max to max they receive 50 applications per day, not more than that..how long does it take to open a bank account..i am so frustrated because my dream of studying in canada has been broken by this...

This is for all who are waiting for GIC certificate...Scotia bank is fooling around..i sent them my TT details on Studetgic @ scotiabank.com and they replied that they have not received my funds as of 15th july.I am really surprised how could they say it to everyone that they have not received...
