In addition to needing it to return to Canada, if you are unfortunate enough to not have your SIN processed at your landing appointment, you will need the PR card to get your SIN from service canada. This is the only proof of PR status that is accepted for inland applicants by service canada :/...

Lol yes jiggy, but they said they don't accept aggressive or intimidating behaviour towards their agents.

Yes you should be able to. I know in Ontario, driver's license processing is completely independent of immigration status.

Thanks Screech! The whole thing lasted less than 10 minutes. The rep checked my ID, hubby's ID, my passport and confirmed my address. We had our baby with us, she asked if we were receiving any welfare - No, if hubby worked - yes, if i had ever been convicted or denied entry to Canada - No...

You dont need to have a license from your homeland. i had to carry mine because i wanted to skip the G2 phase. You can do the regular process with just your ID and proof of address.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hi, sorry i took so long to get back to you. This is what i did: I applied for my driving record back home (this is only necessary if you want to skip the G2 phase), carried my driving record, license from back home along with my passport and proof of address to the Driving examination center...

Hi everyone, just wanted to share a bit of good news, it seems CIC has really picked up speed again. I received DM on June 26 and today i received a letter from the Scarborough office informing me that my landing interview will be August 14th :). I honestly wasn't even expecting a letter...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hi, i truly empathise with your frustration. I don't have anything significantly helpful to add per se, just wanted you to know that if you are in ontario you can go ahead and apply for a driver's license. Your immigration status does not matter. I'm not sure about other provinces. Hope...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Ok, I hope it works out for you then. I was hoping the same thing, but I am going to go ahead and apply just as a precautionary measure. I don't think I will be able to register for school without either proof of permanent residence or a study permit.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

I don't see why not. Once you receive an acceptance letter from your school you are able to apply for study permit. If you're in ontario, you are also entitled to pay domestic fees.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Hi, do you plan to just apply for a study permit since you have school in September? I was also accepted in a program for the fall semester and plan to just get a study permit since i don't anticipate being a granted a landing date for another 3 months or so. I received DM on June 26 and will...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

HI everyone, I got a letter from CIC today telling me to pay my perm residence fee $490 online. It said to print the online receipt and forward to CIC Scarborough, it went on further to request copies of pages in my passport and ended with the instruction to fax the info/documents requested to...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Quick question: Once i receive DM, do i have to pay the landing fee before they will give me a landing date or can i pay at the landing office on day of interview?

I noticed that the UBC excerpt you posted said nothing about the entitlement of dependents on Canadian citizens and Permanent residents. If you're not sure about it, you should find out if that status confers entitlement to domestic fees.
