    PR FINALLY CAME!!

It took a year and a half!! But it finally came yesterday! Finally we can get our lives started in Canada. My baby is due on May 5th and my husband's job offer starts April 1st! We are so happy. Getting out MP involved was the right thing to do. All that is left is getting him 'landed'...

Need help!! What is going to happen?

My husband has been waiting from Manila for 15 months now for his PR to come. We are both living in Canada, and he is on a visitor visa. I got my local MP involved because Manila hadn't contacted me since December (when they did, they said I had to resend my husband's Australia police report...

A Mess, A Police Certificate and an involved MP

Hi again, Just a recap on the story. I am a Canadian and my husband is Japanese. We applied for his permanent residence while still living in Japan in 2012. We applied outland through Manila, Philippines. I was accepted as his sponsor in November of 2012.. Here is the update on his CIC page...

    Sponsorship and social Assistance...

Hey guys, sad to say that my husband's visa is still under process... I am his sponsor but I have run out of money. Honestly, I came to canada last year with a good savings. I became pregnant and now no one will hire me. My husband is on a visitor visa waiting. So we ended up living off our...

    Police check request AGAIN

Okay, I did what you said and emailed them with evidence of my receipts and emails I received from the AFP. I find it so hard that immigration seems to be very disorganized with my husband's file and that they are requesting things that were already sent. Thank you though for the advice.

    Police check request AGAIN

My new question now is can I resend my receipts to the Australian Police and have them redo the check or do I require to pay it again?

    Police check request AGAIN

I thought everything was ok. I sent everything Manila needed. Police checks from several countries around the world. Now Manila is asking for the Australia Police Check AGAIN. I sent it to them. Why are they asking for it again? Now I find that the website to get the police checks is down and I...

    "Decision Made" - What now?

I hope they don't send it to the Japanese address since my husband is now registered at my address in Canada on the Ecas system. Also when I sent the last of his paperwork, it included a paper of where to send any papers and that is to us in Canada. Lets keep our fingers crossed that we get it...

    "Decision Made" - What now?

Wow, we have very similar situations. My husband is Japanese but is currently staying with me in Canada. Manila started processing the application on November 21st, 2013, a day before yours... almost 6 months since I sent in the final papers they requested and 14 months since the application...

    IN PROCESS!!

Thanks truesmile. I already have the passport in my hand and I know that Japan is a passport exempt country so I don't have to worry to much about that. =) Now is just a waiting game, but I feel much better knowing now that after so long my husband is finally in process. =)

    IN PROCESS!!

I was feeling so disheartened when I woke up this morning. Everyday I think about immigration... For months there were no updates, nothing. Manila never sent us any info. Then I requested my husband's passport back in case of an emergency so that he would be able to travel home if needed...

Help please - copies of documents for spousal application

You don't have to send certified copies if they are in English. But usually on official papers there is a watermark on the paper copy which shows it was a real official paper. Like when I made a copy of my marriage certificate, you could see COPY COPY COPY written across the back behind the...

    Passport returned... nothing in it...

No. That isn't the case. They know he is in Canada. His address is now listed as a Canadian Address (if they had thought he was in Japan, I am sure they would have sent the passport there, but they sent it right to Canada). But before Tokyo opened their new office again just a few weeks ago, all...

    Passport returned... nothing in it...

As the story goes, my husband was under process in Manila (since December 2012 while I was accepted as his sponsor in Sept, 2012). We moved to Canada in April to wait. Manila requested some extra paperwork in May that we sent (this included his passport). Then they went on strike. Starting in...

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

I am by nature a very nervous person... I am quiet and worry a lot. This is not a good combo when dealing with immigration. I've told my story so many times. I sent my husband's application in September 2012, I was accepted as his sponsor in December. Manila requested all paperwork that I had...
