Applying for citizenship with an expired PR card

Hi SuperDude, the PR card is a travel document, i.e. allows re-admittance to Canada as a permanent resident, but does not in and of itself prove that you are continuing to fulfill the requirements for being a legal permanent resident (residency conditions may not be met even with a valid PR...

Have you received an RQ even though you never left Canada?

Hi ottawa_girl, I'm a citizen already, applied in October 2011 with a passport expired by almost a year (Nov 2010) and no travel outside the country since my original entry date. HTH

Have you received an RQ even though you never left Canada?

I've not left the country at all since my original entry date, didn't get an RQ. Also, for what it's worth, my passport had been expired since before applying, did not renew it to this day. HTH

The citizenship ceremony and what documents are required?

They should be in your invitation letter, it's pretty much the same documents you were required to bring along for your test/interview.

    Vancouver October 2012 Tests Timeline

If anyone is in the same boat, please use this thread for October 2012 test dates in Vancouver. Mine was October 30th. Was told at the time that current processing times were three to five months... obviously hoping they were talking about worse case scenarios and it won't take that long...

    Victoria / Vancouver

I moved from Vancouver to Richmond shortly before my application showed in process last August. It has not delayed my process at all, got my test date after two months of "in process" in October 2012 in Vancouver, so there's no transfer to the Surrey center that I can tell.
