A tip to avoid important email from CIC to go to Spam. You can add CIC email address to your contacts. Marked it as "VIP" if you use mac/iphone, or mark as "Important" with Google/Android. That way it is for sure you would get it in the mail inbox. I added CIC address as "VIP" in my Iphone...

As far as I know, T4 does not count as reference. However, you can't provide reference from your previous employer, you can writer a letter explain why. It's best to call ANIP office up or email them and ask directly.
