ON THE LIGHTER SIDE: Paranoia during the "wait"

Wow, that is a great thread!!! I think I was freaking out on the entire process. Filling the forms and gathering the documents was horrible, I asked my hubby to fill the forms and showed him exactly what needed to be filled out. it took about 2 weeks and then he tells me he finished, and he...

    "in process" thread? come post!

Hi missmini , My husband also got 5 pages of information about the visa, until when it is valid, some employment info and what to do after arriving in Canada. I thing you should call or email the VO and ask them for it. It was probably an oversight on their behalf. Sharona

    November 2012 Applicants Unite!

Hi William, I think that the longer your relationship is and when you have kids, the less proof you need to provide... We were in the same situation as you, 15 year marriage with 3 kids, and my hubby already got his COPR :)

    Is this plan correct?

Hi that is not true. He needs to list the Dependant kids. If they are Canadians, they don't need to fill application for them nor undergo medical exams, but there is a request for copies of either citizenship or passport. Sharona

Questions for Sponsoring My Pregnant Wife from Abroad

Hi Klystomane, I'm not familiar with Seoul VO, but according to CIC it is about 10 months for outland... I am also a Canadian citizen by descent that is not a resident of Canada and I'm sponsoring my husband. (my kids were born before 2009 so all are citizens). If I was in your shoes I would...

Do I need to submit medical exams for the kids with my application?

I'm not an expert but as far as I know (read in this forum and in CIC site), you shuold include them with the medicals. If you don't do it, and at some point your spouse would want to sponsore them he might not be able to. Sharona

Should I pay for the RPRF fee before it's requested?

on CIC they say that if you pay all the fees upfront it will reduce the processing time of your application. Also from other posts here they say that paying the fee when requested can delay the proccessing by about 3 weeks... So I would recommend you to pay it now and send them the recipt. Sharona

    Prerequisites for sponsor before sponsorship

Hi marina_quelle, As the sponsor it is fairly easy, as long as you are a Canadian citizen, not on walefare, have a job and can give them some kind of proof that you intend to actually move to Canada after your spouse gets his PR you will be approved. More details can be found...

Hi spaceraceone , I'm not sure what is acceptable, but when I filled it, I had at least 3 places that I didn't have a valid telephone number: 2 of them the numbers changed to be 7 digits instead of 5, and I gave the old ones, and 1 was in a kibutz (a joint community) that we rented an apartment...

Plane ticket to prove my return to Canada...sufficient hopefully...!?

Hi fandv, The proof you are talking a bout is for Canadian citizens like me, that has the center of her life (work, family, pay taxes etc.) in a country that is not Canada. You are considered a tourist, so no need of proof. Sharona
