Get some loss of earnings insurance.

My wife is a RN at the local ER here in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. While working she had occasion to walk into a room at the hospital. The floor of the room had been recently waxed but not polished. There were no warning signs. She slipped on to her back and fractured her sacrum and damaged her...

    And another thing.....

Sorry to be late with this - further issues. Walmart refused me a phone as did another fellow who runs the local Circuit City and who I know as I buy computer parts from him on a regular basis. Both times I was told that I could not operate a mobile phone as I was not a PR or Citizen.

    Who is hiring?

I shouldn't bother if I were you; read my posts and you will understand. The USA immigration service was great; did exactly what it said on the tin. Canadian immigration services leave much to be desired. Good luck whatever you decide.

    How to obtain PR

Don't want to pour cold water on your hopes but we came to Canada on a work permit (wife's, I'm retired.) Why so long?

Thanks for the interest Tired of Waiting. Yes, we have considered the Nominee programme but yet more money - $5500 - and starting over with no guarantees that the program will be any quicker. All we have had regarding this from immigration consultants including a retired Immigration officer are...

    Why so long?

Thanks for that PMM. However it rather begs the question as why the Consulates and CIC disseminate false information, take our case for example: Originally from the UK we had green cards to live and work in the USA. Liked what we had seen of Nova Scotia and my wife was granted a Work...

    Why so long?

Can anyone tell me why it will take the Canadians 5 years to do what the Americans did in 10 months? That is, process an application for Permanent Residency.
