I went through Paris as a Swiss Citizen. Sent my application to Mississauga in August 2011 and received my COPR in January 2012. I don't see any issue that could have delayed my application so I think it can't go much faster.

I had the same problem. Just write them an email (via website) and ask them to correct your name. I suggest to attach some kind of proof of your correct name. Greets 1291

Received my COPR from Paris on January 20th 2012! So that makes 5 month in total since sending the application. Rather smooth... ;)

I paid 495 Swiss Francs which is about CAD 530. Can't be much more expensive.

Did the embassy tell you in the email that you will have to send the passport or did you get a letter in the meanwhile? Maybe I still have to send my passport to Paris. I will see in the letter that I (hopefully) will receive soon.

After just two days I received an email that I will "soon receive my Confirmation of Permanent Residence by registred mail"! Does that mean I don't have to send my Passport to the embassy to get a Visa in it and that I will be able to land just with the COPR?

They startet processing the application on November 28, 2011 and ecas changed to "decision made" on December 12, 2011. Hope thats good news!
