Does anybody know when a sponsored spouse is eligible for health card after landing in Canada? The OHIP website mentions stay of at least 153 days in Ontario, but not sure if this applies to spouse cases too.

Just wondering if your friend got medical and PPR together. Based on discussions in the forum, medicals usually are available at CIC within 4-6 weeks after they are submitted by DMP.
