Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Just wanted to say good luck to all you London applicants in 2015. I have been in Canada 3 years now and am just submitting my citizenship application (not without its own complications I might add) I got my PR just in the nick of time to catch my flight back in 2011...

    JAN 2015 Citizenship Applicants

It will be returned AnaMaria. I sent mine on Dec 27th, arrived Jan 2 and received it back yesterday. The regulations clearly say it is the day the authorities receive it and stamp it, so we have to go and pay the extra $230 and resubmit. :(

    December 2014 citizenship applicants!

Hi SFD, I paid $400 already. I guess that must have included the Right of Citizenship Fee. Now I have been asked to pay $230 extra, making a total of $630 as you say. I suppose the answer to my question is that the increase is not $130, but is the full $230! I wonder if I can claim it back...

    December 2014 citizenship applicants!

Missed the deadline by 2 days! Posted my application on December 27th by priority mail from Vancouver hoping to avoid the fee increase, but it was only received and stamped 2nd January, so was returned. There is a new category on the online fee payment page to pay the additional $230. Just...

Live-in-caregiver vs International Experience Canada class for au pair

We have a UK citizen nanny/au pair wishing to come with us to canada in august. Probably qualifies for both visa categories. Can anyone advise on pros and cons of these two routes? Can we start both?

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

So to complete the saga, i got it! I queued in the drop off queue then explained my circumstances. They said that because of the large volume, postal applications are taking the full 6 weeks at the moment. They made a few calls and then a very nice lady appeared with an envelope addressed to me...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Drop off and pick up service in london For those who want to drop off at CHC London (and this is highly recommended given the 6 week turnaround currently experienced for mail) and aren't in London, don't have friends or family in London or don't fancy the trip to London, I found this visa...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

So no passport, no email today. It's only been 4 weeks, but I am going to London tomorrow to see if I can plead my case in person. Doesn't sound optimistic given derwig's description that they only let you into the foyer, but what the hell. I figured £80 return train fair was worth the...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Seems they don't have to reply if the application is within normal lead times (which I understand for posted PPRs to receive a visa is 6 weeks!) I am only at 4 weeks, emailed them 4 days ago and received nothing too. Seems best results is to email them with some new information using the...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

We'll try to! I agree with your lessons learned. Today is 25 days since received at the CHC London. The day before we fly would be 31 days. Pinklady just got hers back on day 35 in Canada, so there is still hope ...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I would use the web form here https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=london to email them. allows you to input your name, nationality, DoB, file number etc. I sent one today pleading my case. I'll be there Thursday afternoon if I don't get a response! I wish I had done...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Was just scanning through the forum and noticed this reply to my question. For completeness incase anyone else is wondering, this is how I got around the dilemma of how to submit with PC certs to follow without delaying the application. I submitted my application with the UK PC cert (where I...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

London received mine on March 15th. We are in the UK too but were planning on leaving for a visit to Canada on 16th April (tickets booked etc.) - eek! I watch your progress with interest whitehorsejk. I enclosed a note requesting expedited service for what it's worth - probably means they'll...

What did everyone send as a return envelope for the passport? Self addressed with postage already on? The instructions from London seem to ask for a really big envelope.

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

don't know about ecas. Seems everyone is checking everyday. From what I can tell, London mostly email, but some letters. 2 weeks if you drop it in person, and around 3 weeks if you post it (based an a very small survey of members of this forum).

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Don't worry. This e-cas update means you have been successful. London don't seem to send letters but will email you to the applicant's email address if provided. This can take a while, so be patient. It will give you your file number and instructions on how to submit your passport. My email took...

We had no letters from London - only the original file transfer from Mississagua. E-cas was updated only when they started processing it (more than a month after receiving it). ... and a question for others who have had a PPR from london. how long after e-cas changed to COMPLETED did you get...
