Thank you all for your responses. It takes a load off my mind! One more question I had was, will he require a Visa to visit the united states while he is a PR? He is from Pakistan and isnt visa-exempt. I was hoping the PR card would allow him visa-free entry across the border.

I am going to be returning to Toronto this weekend and my husband will be with me to make his first official landing on Canadian soil as a PR. Twice once at first review they do security check and for bg checks they are started after medical is cleared. Sorry for bad typing I hate the iPad keyboard :p

Have you ordered gcms notes? It's really the only way to understand why your case is in the interview queue.

Imm 5475 - Your husband fills that form so it's his signature. Questions 1-4 are your husband's info and 5-6 are you. Imm 5563 - section b is your husband's info and section c is your own. At the bottom you sign it yourself.

Your husband will be principal applicant. Use his file number and his address but make sure you include both your email addresses so that you receive the files in electronic form instead of the hard copies. Hard copies will delay your case because they have to scan nd print at times.

Apply for caips/gcms notes ASAP. It will not slow down your case. Make sure to request the electronic file and not a hard copy. You will receive in 30 days and hopefully receive some insight as to why it's being delayed. You should have gotten your PPR by April at the earliest.
