    January 2024 Citizenship application

I never received a 'Decision Made', I just put down the day when I received an email giving me instructions to download the e-certificate. Two days later, the tracker updated with an oath date. It was seven days after my LPP completed so hopefully you won't have long to wait.

Can we eat/drink light food while waiting for oath taking in front of camera?

I had a insulated tumbler for a few sips. To be honest, the bigger problem was people thinking they were muted in the waiting room, and everyone could hear what they were saying.:D

    Urgent Processing for Citizenship Application

I don't think your circumstances come under the umbrella of urgent processing. The IRCC website stipulates that in special cases, citizenship can be expedited to go to a Canadian school, college or university.

Could there be a possibility of receiving the oath ceremony date while I'm away on my scheduled trip?

It depends on your priorities, I suppose. In your shoes, if i was that concerned, I'd apply after July. That being said, I applied with existing travel plans, knowing that I might have to change them if the ceremony fell between those dates. My personal and family priority was citizenship.

it has been 9 months, but I haven't got my AOR

In your shoes, I would consider cancelling my application and applying again. AOR seems to be happening fast nowadays. Sounds like yours may be lost in the system.

Got Scheduled to take oath on short notice but no invitation email yet!

IRCC say they will send the invite 1 to 2 weeks before the ceremony, and to contact them if you haven't received the email within 5 days. No need for any undue panic.

Can't Find UK or GBR in "Territory of Issue" on Citizenship Application

I was quite surprised that I had to pick 'England'. Usually, as a British subject overseas, I've had to select 'United Kingdom' which was never common until recent years. That said, I think it's quite considerate from Canada.

    Self Administered Oaths!

Personally, I hope not. I first swore an oath to Her Majesty Elizabeth II and her heirs and successors when I joined the British army. I will once again swear my allegiance to King Charles III & Canada in a couple of weeks to become a citizen. The occasions will have been, and will be, an...
