That would be me. The file was received by the singapore vo on feb 3rd 2011. Nothing changed for 7 months until we sent additional proof and they started processing on sept 18th 2011. I do not think it is a coincidence.

We did send extra documentation (proofs) because the ecas status was stuck at "application received". We just had a letter addressing the singapore VO, with our application details and what are the additional documents we are attaching and why. To our surprise, that additional document actually...

She was in canada with me at that time, and we had told the embassy in singapore that she is in canada. So they called my number in canada to talk to her. They actually called and asked her where to send the letter, and telling her that once she receives the letter she will have only 60 days to...

Ok, after my wife received a call last week, she received a letter from the embassy asking her to submit the police clearance certificates, a medical (redo, as the first one is going to expire soon) test report, and the passport. I guess once she submits it, she will get the visa. Hope that this...

Ah, another person from singapore office. I havent heard anything either since they "received" my app in February from Mississauga. As far as i can tell, you dont have to do anything unless there is a request from the Singapore VO for any additional documentation that they need. Or if you have...

Again this is just my personal opinion. Couple of systems that i know of which you cannot change - Embassy/Consulate and the Immigration (at the airport, sea port or land borders). They are way too powerful, they can just "ban" you for life from entering their country for no valid reasons...

I am not blaming anyone or finding fault with anyone. We can make out reasons for why some ppl got their visas faster than the others. But no one knows. It could be as simple as some one dropped all the files to the floor and they lost the original order in which the files were stacked :) and...
