    Common-law sponsorship?

You won't get a Canadian passport with a PR. That only comes when you get citizenship. But with PR, you can travel outside the country with no problems. You just have to be sure to make the minimum time requirements for being in Canada, so be careful not to travel beyond that requirement.

I'm Da1000's spouse....so excited that it's finally come! Can't believe that we've been approved! All the stress and time apart has been worth it and especially proud of the fact that we did it ourselves with no legal help... originally looked into getting a solicitor to help but it was well...

What is considered a 'living' under 'Living History'?

Exactly my point! It's a very ambiguous term. But we ended up doing exactly as Canadianwoman and Jarry96 mentioned. We made a list of all the times he stayed with me in my home and included a detailed cover letter explaining why we did not list these under addresses lived at the first time. They...

What is considered a 'living' under 'Living History'?

My partner and I are in the process of our FCS application and it's reached stage 2. The London VO has sent us an e-mail requiring additional documents including 'Living History', which was included but we think they may want a more thorough list. By that I mean my partner has come to stay with...

Congrats to all who've reached the next step! Question for whomever would like to answer... I've just checked ECAS to see if anything else has been added and now it just shows my name and address! It used to show 'application received' or something along those lines but now it shows nothing...

To Kyle18: I cannot send a private message back yet, probably due to having under 10 posts so I'm not ignoring you! Just am not allowed to respond. I don't have approval yet, I just have my AOR :)

Is that what it means then? I still haven't received anything via e-mail yet, this was all just verbal, assuming they were telling the truth about it being processed today.

Hello all, Da1000 is actually my other half, the one whom I'm sponsoring. We sent in our application on July 10th, arrived July 11th and was getting so worried that perhaps ours got lost! But after reading through here and seeing that many others have had to call since they've not heard...

Canadian citizen with British common law partner

Thank you for the response! That takes a load of my mind knowing that there's no minimum income requirement. Showing adequate arrangements shouldn't be a problem seeing as I'll begin looking for a job from the UK a few weeks before I will return. Now to get the process started finally :)

Canadian citizen with British common law partner

Thank you for replying! Sorry my reply is a few months late lol As his sponsor, would I need to have a certain amount of funds for when he arrives? Bearing in mine I'll just be arriving back from living in the UK, so won't have a job straight away but will get one as soon as I possibly can...
