How different it is from having a TRV as compared to a visitor record? Not sure about these two, so a little confused.

So, I recently received an email about the category based draws. And my noc/teer comes under those but even with that I don't when I'll be getting an invitation and even after getting an invitation to apply what does the process looks like? I only have ~6 months until my work permit expires...

So, the issue is in title^. I don't know what paths or options I've now. If anyone can help, would be really appreciated.
