IN LAND SPONSORSHIP - WHAT INFOMRATION IS VERIFIED?

CIC employs thousands of people. I cannot imagine that they are just sitting in their office, reading and answering application forms. Their whole existence is about controlling (i.e. checking out) incoming foreigners.

IN LAND SPONSORSHIP - WHAT INFOMRATION IS VERIFIED?

Be honest. If you happen to not comply with all the rules, it is always best to tell them and explain why things are the way they are (thinking you are married to another person and cannot get a divorce worked out). If you lie and CIC finds out you lie in order to get a PR, you will be denied...

    canada police clearance

I entered Canada a few times as temporary visitor, had my 3 month visa extended once. In total around 7 months, back and forth to my home country. I was asked for my fingerprints around 2 months after the embassy started processing my file. I did it in paper (not electronically) but the results...

    canada police clearance

I was in Canada for over 7 months, but with gaps. I was asked to send my fingerprints to RCMP to be checked. I do not think you can do it upfront, because you have to mention your CIC filenumber and processing embassy. RCMP send results directly to the processing embassy.

    Certified (Notarized) Documents

Hi Canswede, I was in the same situation. I had to proof that me and my Canadian girlfriend were living together for 5 years in Holland. The normal forms at townhall are in Dutch, and translation and certifying by a notary are very expensive. I asked townhall for an international version of...

    Return ticket?

I flew many times back and forth to Canada (I am Dutch, she Canadian). Return tickets are always cheaper than one way. I know it sounds silly, but check the airline ticket websites and you will see it for yourselves. As far as I know you will not be admitted as a visitor with a one way ticket...

    Xray before Medical?

I did my Xray a week after the medical, at a hospital nearby the designated medical practitioner. Then had to deliver the photo's at the doctor, who combined his papers with the photo and send them (in my case) to Vienna. It sounds ok to me.

    Statutory declaration of common-law union

Hi Bob, I do not have a co-signer and made the same conclusion as you. I did not include a statutory declaration. I did however include a signed letter from my parents and my common-law's partners brother, saying that we have been a couple since 2003. Also an official document from my...

    Sponsor with a Criminal Record

My sponsor has a criminal record. I had to answer the question you are referring to with no, but I added a copy of her criminal record. I clarified it with a letter saying that although this information is not specifically asked, I do not want to withhold important information. She was approved...

    RCMP fingerprint search

Anyone had to send a fingerprint slip to RCMP lately? I was asked to by the processing embassy, probably because I lived in Canada for over 6 months. I live presently in the Netherlands and I mailed my slip end of May 2008. I wonder if it really takes 120 days or more.. DutchMan

when do you receive the AOR ?

I never received an AOR from the local visa office (Berlin). My case is being processed normally though.
