Proof of funds during landing. Will my one time transfer to Canadian bank suffice?

I'm planning to land as a permanent resident soon but I'm not sure how I can show the proof of funds. I'm planning to transfer pretty much all of my money from my account in my home country to a newcomer's pre-arrival Canadian account. But I will only have access to that money once I visit the...

Is an accompanying goods list compulsory for hard landing?

Oh that's good to know and thanks for detailed information. I was a bit confused about the accompanying goods list and would feel super awkward just writing "clothes" in the section. I know some immigrants take tons of stuff with them. For me, I can move my entire life in just two bags lol. :D

Is an accompanying goods list compulsory for hard landing?

Okay that's good to know since I won't be carrying any valuables in the first place.

Learning "French" for benefit in express entry.

Yes, it could be that the next government might change categories. But I think it's a good idea to learn it anyway since you will most likely always get some bonus points for Express Entry and it's a nice language to know.

Is an accompanying goods list compulsory for hard landing?

So I can land without the accompanying goods form? Do I need to declare my laptop and phone or is it okay?

Learning "French" for benefit in express entry.

It's a bit of a gamble since the governments will most likely change in Canada next year. So we can't say for sure if they will give this much importance to Francophones. For me, it was a gamble too to learn French from scratch; it took me two years. But it worked. I hope that if you decide to...

Is an accompanying goods list compulsory for hard landing?

Hi all, I have an immigrant visa and I was wondering that if I do a hard landing, will I have to carry a list of goods accompanying? I'm talking about the form that is found on CBSA. The thing is that I'm only going to be carrying clothes, my laptop and phone. And that is it. I have no goods...

I think what pisses people off is the fact when students present it as a cost saving measure. That being said, it gives racists a lot of reasons to hate us even more.

My point exactly. Because of guys like these, everyone has to suffer. Also abusing food banks is the worst thing that you can do as a foreign guest in another country.

They mess it up for the rest of us too. These days, you can't even open up anything related to India on Canadian YouTube, Twitter or Instagram without Canadians saying the most atrocious racist stuff imaginable. You work hard, you learn a new language to get your scores up and then some pendus...

TCF is pretty hard, I don't know about TEF. I personally found it tougher than DELF B2. You can crack the writing part maybe by memorizing phrases and vocabulary but for listening, reading and speaking, you do need to have a good level already.

I'm not in IT so that is not an option for me and I'd probably would have to find something once I arrive in Canada. That being said, I'm hopeful that they won't do a mass amnesty of all the asylum seekers, expired work permit holders and diploma mill students. If they all get a PR, the value...

Yeah. One of the main reasons I learned French and finished my Masters overseas was because I believed that the Canadian point based system was fair compared to Europe. In EU, you need sponsorship, wait for 5 years and then apply for PR. Mind you, most people study there as well for a few years...

Thanks! I think discrimination in Canada is very dependent on where you live. I have a friend who went to London Ontario for work reasons and he was shocked by the amount of open racism he witnessed. People being rude to him at stores while being bubbly and smiley at white customers, people...

Thanks Taran for your reply! Actually one of the reasons why I was gravitating towards Quebec was so that I can stay away from the infamous immigrant bubble. But you're right, I need to do more research!

Thanks for your slightly hilarious and yet very insightful response. I do think I'm gonna stay away from the GTA if I end up going to Canada. Let's see how things work out!

@GandiBaat @RSub @Taran D Guys, I need your advice. I see so much hate against Indians by Canadians on social media, it is freaking crazy! You can have a random post on Reddit about something from India, or something related to Indians and you'd see at least 10 hate comments from Canadians...
