    After 14 month, all I have had from Montreal office was the test invitation. No single other step completed or at least updated and its so unacceptable and frustrating. Is there anyone else on same boat with me?

    I am the same. I requested and got my GCMS notes (of course after filing complaints). The security part was redacted but the rest was fine. Criminality was passed. I think probably BG check could be the reason.

    I dont even got background check completed. Just the test. I think it depends where you were born, regardless of how long have you been in Canada.

    10 months so far and only citizenship test completed. No background, no prohibition no nothing. As it goes, I highly doubt I will be done anytime soon :'(

    Thanks for your replies, all. Reassuring. Reason for applying late was a little bit of all mentioned: PhD had to be finished (+6 years). Had a bit of struggle about how to go about French language requirement. Also procrastination, definitely. Couldn't see a pandemic coming in a few years...
