My ceremony oath date was July 27th but I couldn't make it back to Canada in time. I notified them we'd be back August 28th. They replied and said they would put us on the "first available ceremony date". Anybody have any idea how long this tends to be?

You were able to take the ceremony outside of Canada? I requested and they denied :confused:

Not sure, I didn't ask, less questions the better! I presume maybe cos enough time has passed that they just want to check on your latest travel.

My tracker was not updated until after I sent (emailed) my scanned passport pages again, and then had the interview with the officer. Mine updated to say "interview required" and then I got an email asking for the passport scans.

Great stuff, it was just a 5 minute ID check. Granting application today. Also told me that we can request to take the oath outside of Canada if we're not ready to come back over at the time. Just have to respond to the notice email. Not guaranteed but they will consider the request.

When you say residency, you mean the 3 out of 5 years requirement? Because I've been out of the country long enough now while my application is processed that I'm not a resident (for tax purposes). Is this a problem? Planning to move back pretty soon once interview is done and ceremony is...

What did they ask in that interview when you took the test outside? Where you still outside when you had the interview? And I noticed you had to do another language skills test just after the interview, how come? For context, I have an interview coming up, have been outside of Canada since late...
