    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Completely agree. Some of these urgent processing requests are just smartly maneuvering the system at the right time. Technically most of us have these reasons and urgent processing would have applied to us as well if we would have jumped on the bandwagon at the right time. Now looks like...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Reading through his posts I don't think he had a job offer. He saw a job, which was apparently a great fit for his profile and he built the case on that he cannot apply until he has citizenship. Technically I guess anyone who has a match and knows the system well and who can build a good...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Another quick question please if you can confirm! Your responses have been very helpful so far. From your online tracker does it show the date when your "Oath" was changed to completed from in progress? Just trying to understand how long it takes for them to change this to completed post Oath...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Congrats! How long did the ceremony take from start to finish? Also you mentioned you logged in 30 mins before, did that help in terms of starting early or it all started on time? I would assume the actual Oath part likely doesn't take longer than 5 to 10 mins. Must be a relief to get it all done!

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Thank you for all your responses. You have demystified the online oath process for a lot of us :) By the way did any one ask or did they give the opportunity to either pick the citizenship certificate in person from London office or expedite it during or at the end of the ceremony? Thank you!

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

I think many times the instructions are an ideal state with many things not done to that ideal state. It maybe the PR card cutting is one. The only way they can make sure the PR card is cut in person is if the officer goes to a private room with each applicant to review the cutting. Doesn't look...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Thank you so much this is very helpful. I have a few more quick questions hope you don't mind! 1). Does everyone recite the Oath together or the Judge makes everyone recite it individually one by one during the ceremony? Asking the question as because with all the families and different...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Congrats! this is great news! Can you please provide info around the Oath ceremony i.e how long it was from start to finish and what are the different parts of the ceremony i.e initial registration in private, Oath in public and then PR card cutting in private? Thank you and all the best!

    February 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Can anyone who has completed the Oath provide context and stages of the online ceremony? Do we 1). Start with a private room where ceremony clerk confirms ID then 2). Move to the full ceremony with everyone where we recite the Oath followed by 3). going again to the private room at the end to...

Thanks for the info on the ceremony backlog. I personally think it is about time they do in person events in large convention centers to speed things up. Enough with this COVID delay. Did you get any indication from them on the phone that they are trying to find a solution or it was just sorry...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

I thought getting DM will bring me closer but looks like it is another several month wait for Oath. I get it that they maybe backlogged at the Oath stage but why can't they put people in virtual Oath queues so we know when we would be taking it? The ceremony could be in September/October e.t.c...

Online citizenship test completed, waiting for next steps

Citizenship test antivirus notification about website using the webcam.

I don't think you will have any issues. My test was set to complete very quickly after taking it so never had issues. So no need to worry. In a very unlikely situation where they have questions they will just ask to take the test again (highly unlikely). You should see completed on the tracker...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

You can try calling on Monday if you are able to get any further info from the call agent. That being said it is obvious there are multiple old and new systems running at IRCC. Decision made is an approval. You generally don't get a refusal without some sort of additional document request e.t.c...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

The conservatives actually changed the rules to 4 years from the current 3, it wasn't 5 years. Also if you review the details during the short time the 4 year rules were in place, overall processing improved with many getting citizenship on average within 6 months. With the more efficient...

    July 2020 - Citizenship application

I think the supposedly reduction in FTE is as that line caters to both citizenships and passports. With the move to 10 year passports there is less demand for passport renewals and hence as per their logic need for less FTE to cater to that aspect of the program. That being said completely...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

I hope in person starts soon as well. Would not be easy getting IRCC back to work in person especially when they have gotten used to "remote work" (No work and full salary) during the pandemic.

MP yes I will write and have written in the past as well, but they receive so many of these not sure what impact they have or how much they care. In terms of journalists and media without disclosing names it doesn't go much further and it is not my place to use my friends name for something...
