    You'll have to wait it out, there's no other option for you. To flagpole you either need to be from a visa-exempt country, or have a valid TRV, or have a valid work or study permit.

    Oh, right. I see it now. @MSH29 The lawyer option might end up costing significantly more than what I quoted in my post because your case is more complicated than you let on in your OP. I'd still advise you to consult with a lawyer though, if you aren't happy with the 8 months.

    It's not about prioritizing, it's about manpower, or lack of. IRCC doesn't even have adequate number of trained officers to deal with online apps.

    You can flagpole in that case. I recommend BC land border points as they have the least hassle and highest likelihood of approval. Do note that any maintained/implied status ceases to exist once you've crossed the border.
