Hi everyone! Are there any documents required, other than passport (with visa) and the COPR letter, when landing for the first time in Canada after receiving the COPR? I heard something about preparing a list of everything the new PR owns or brings to Canada? Thanks for your help!

I think the very first step, with the AOR has been sped up. We sent our application last October and took nearly 6 months to get an AOR. I believe applicants now get it within a month. I'm not sure if this affects the entire processing time, but at least it spares you 6 months of agony....

The document checklist is for more than one application type, some where you might have the CSQ before, but it's not the case for spousal sponsorships (as far as I know) so you just don't include it

We wrote exactly what they asked for in the document, I can't remember everything, but it was the studio name and address, date the pictures were taken + name of person in the picture and their DOB, something like that

Same here, we've done this photo process a few times already for different visas, and we always just handwrite it according to the information they require. It's not like they have a list of every photo studio in Beijing anyway...

Congratulations! It definitely means you got approved! You'll get your passport back with a PR visa and a COPR to be given to the immigration officer when you land in Canada.

No money in the world will make a consultant care more about your application than YOU do. Just be sure to read everything carefully and check...and re-check everything before submitting it and you'll be fine! We had the same question 8 months ago and now I'm glad we didn't pay all that money...

I was wondering the same thing recently but looking at different posts here, there are quite a few people who have landed in Canada over the past few weeks after receiving their COPR, so I don't think this will be a problem. I think it's a matter of priority, your spouse is an approved PR not...

I'm sure you can find that information anywhere in this forum, but it really depends on the steps you did before as some steps are in a different order for different people (with very different situation). You can look at my signature and fill it with your info and then everyone will be better...

Thanks again! The visa service center (in Beijing) that collects our application and then sends it out to the Visa Office wrote 4-8 weeks in an e-mail they sent us. I guess we'll just wait and see!

Appreciate the response! When sending out the documents, we were told 4-8 weeks, which seems quite long compared to others who, based on comments I've read here, completed the whole process in a matter of days. Here's hoping it all goes smoothly!
